Angela Mcgregor's Biography
Angela Punch-McGregor made her feature début in 1978 in two of Australia’s most acclaimed films, Fred Schepisi’s The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith and Phil Noyce’s Newsfront. She won an AFI Best Actress Award for the former and Best Supporting Actress for the latter. She went on to win a second Best Actress Award from the AFI for her performance in Annie’s Coming Out (1984, dir. Gil Brearley) and the London Daily Telegraph Actress of the Year Award for her starring role in We of the Never Never (1982, dir. Igor Auzins). Angela has also had a long and distinguished career on the stage, working regularly for the Sydney and Melbourne Theatre Companies among others, and also on television in roles for series such as All Saints, Home & Away and White Collar Blue.
